Each year, ITC awards a total of twenty-four $700 scholarships to high school seniors. Scholarships are awarded to one graduating senior from each of the 23 school districts, plus one open-enrollment student in the ITC service area. Scholarship applicants and/or their parents or guardians must maintain either ITC's Telephone or Internet services, and students must plan to attend a post-secondary institution located in either South Dakota or Minnesota. One $700 scholarship will also be awarded to a graduating senior who attends a school outside the district in which he/she resides due to open enrollment. The scholarship terms and conditions and the application form are below.

  • One $700 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior from each of the twenty-three school districts serving various segments of the ITC service area. 
  • Scholarship applicants and/or their parents or guardians must maintain ITC’s Telephone or Internet services.
  • Applicants must plan to attend a post-secondary institution located in either South Dakota or Minnesota.
  • One $700 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior who has elected to attend a school other than the school in the district in which he/she resides due to Open Enrollment. 
    • Open Enrollment status does not apply if the student attends a school listed under the ITC Area School tab. 
    • All applications for the open enrollment scholarship will be reviewed and selected by ITC management, and the student will be informed accordingly. All open enrollment applicants must submit their applications to the ITC office in Clear Lake, SD, by February 27.

  • Completed applications must be submitted to the respective high school principal/counselor for review by February 27. 
  • The application is completed digitally by filling out the form below.  
  • Copies of awards and certificates need not be submitted, as there should be sufficient space on the application form to state them. 
  • Applicants must also submit a high-resolution, yearbook-style photo to use in ITC’s Bell Ringer newsletter for recognition of their award, should they be selected to receive it. 

  • The respective high school official(s), as determined by each school district, will select the recipient from their school, except for students involved in Open Enrollment, who will send their applications directly to the ITC office in Clear Lake, SD. 
    • The high school official(s) must submit their selection to the ITC office in Clear Lake, SD, by March 6, to provide ample time for notification to students and schools. 
  • The recipients and schools will receive written notification after the ITC representatives have reviewed and approved the final selection. 
  • Recipients will be announced at the respective graduation exercises or awards banquets by school officials and will also be recognized in the ITC Bell Ringer newsletter. 
  • The $700 check to each recipient will be issued at the appropriate time to apply toward the 2nd-semester fees incurred during the freshman year and shall be made payable to the student and the institution attended.
    • It is the responsibility of the recipient to notify Katie Heller at ITC, (605) 874-8303 or email scholarship@itccoop.com, regarding proper names, the date the check is required at the institution, and the address to which to send the check. 
    • Recipients must also provide an unofficial transcript to Katie before the check is sent.
