Mainline fiber construction continues for the Grant County expansion project. We are nearly complete with the drops to the locations that signed up for service with ITC! The fiber splicing and testing phase has started. For those that signed up, when the time comes, we will be calling to review your application and set up an installation time.

The fiber-optic splicing phase for the Grant County rural expansion started last week. The company doing the splicing is Light Path Communications. Anderson Underground continues with the mainline fiber installation with 171 miles completed so far. Multiple contractors are continuing work in the southern part of Grant County installing the fiber-optic drops to the locations that signed up for service. We are almost 80% complete with this phase of the project.

Anderson Underground continues with the mainline fiber installation in rural Grant County. So far, 131 miles have been placed in the ground. Multiple contractors are continuing work on installing the fiber-optic drops to the locations that signed up for service. We are more than 68% complete with this phase of the project. Crews are working in the southern part of Grant County. You will know when the crews are coming when locate markings are put on your property.

The Grant County fiber-optic expansion construction is in full swing.  The mainline fiber crew will be working this week around the intersection of 148th Street and 477th Avenue, working north and east from there.  Multiple fiber-drop crews will also be starting this week working North of Hwy 12 and West of Hwy 15.  The fiber-drop crews will be bringing the fiber optics up to the fiber housing that was placed on your home or business during the pre-fiber installation visit.  If you have any questions on the construction, please give us a call at 1.888.201.2929.

In preparation for the upcoming construction, we are currently scheduling pre-fiber construction visits for those that have filled out an application. If you have signed up for ITC service, but haven’t filled out the online pre-fiber construction survey, This information is needed to help ITC staff and the construction crew determine the best route for the fiber on your property.  

If you prefer, you can also give our office a call at 1.888.201.2929 to complete the survey over the phone. After filling out the survey, the next step will be an ITC staff person calling you to set up a meeting with an ITC technician to determine the best location for the fiber housing on the side of your home or business. The technician will also verify power availability on the inside of your home. The construction crews will be on-site at a later date to plow the fiber. You will know when the crews are coming soon when locate markings are put on your property.
