Working From Home

Working and studying from home is a necessity with the pandemic we are facing. By just having a Wi-Fi signal and the help of a few Internet tools, you can turn your house into a home workspace with access to everything you would have from your office at work.

There are many benefits to working from home, like saving time by not commuting or getting to wear comfy clothes. One study found that employees who work from home are 13 percent more productive compared with their in-office counterparts. With people social distancing these days, working from home is essential. Employees who are mildly sick can still get work done most of the time if it means not having to go into the office and there is no spreading of illness.

Internet Speed

Here are a few things to think about to make your Internet experience better. When you are working from home, you want to make sure you have enough speed. Most people who work from home have at least 50 Mbps. With other things being streamed in the house at the same time, you might want more speed. The customer service staff at ITC will ask you what you want to use your Internet for before you sign up for a plan. Make sure to let them know the number of devices and if you are working or have a student doing online education at home.

There has been a lot of talk about Zoom. Zoom is a reliable video conferencing platform that allows people to conduct work meetings, chat with family, or hold webinars. One benefit of Zoom is that you can join a meeting from your phone, computer, or tablet. It doesn’t matter whether you have an Apple device, Android device, or PC. You can have up to 100 video participants in one Zoom meeting.

The basic Zoom package is free but has some limitations. The meeting can only last 40 minutes and you might not have admin controls. There are other packages available depending on how many bells and whistles you want with your account. Check out Zoom at for more info. This is the perfect time to sign up for Zoom to chat with coworkers and friends.

ITC wants you to know that we are all in this together. We want to make your social distancing as pleasant as possible. For any questions about your home Internet speed or how to make your new work environment ideal, call 1.800.417.8667.
